New Topic

For my new topic I will be writing about movies. I will sort of be writing just about anything in general. But I will start out about on how movies are way more important in society now than they were before. Also, I will be explaining the concept that movies are used to bring out a topic into communities and films bring out crucial subjects which then people start to make a change. My topic hopefully will be entertaining for most of you.

Background Information

Polygamy also known as a plural marriage is a practice that was brought over from the Muslim religion. Polygamy is known as any gender having more than one spouse of the opposite sex is illegal in the United States and can be fined. But like the Muslim religion exists here, the government can't intervine because of the first amendment. So then that becomes an issue. What has happened is that there now exists polygamous communities in Colorado and Utah. All of this started in the Middle East where the parents read the Koran and there it instructs that their chidrens marriages will be arranged. That's how one person (usually male) ends up with so many wives. But this also exists in Africa.

Intro.

For my blog I am planning on researching Polgamy. Though it started off by just a religious encounter many people have adopted it into their own lives. So Im going to try to stay more on the religious side of this topic. My three questions are Why is it required for a young girl to marry in order for her to enter heaven? Second, how is it possible for one man to handle so many wives and cildren? Lastly, how is a profit (priest) chosen among so many people and how does a polygamous religion function? The reason I chose this is because the topic really caught my attention and I have always sort of had an interest in this. Though this topic is broad I hope to stay interested the entire semester.
